Choosing the Right Adhesive
When applying wallpaper to drywall, it's best to choose latex or PVC adhesive. Both types of adhesive have good adhesion and waterproof properties and won't damage the drywall. Unlike ordinary adhesives, latex and PVC adhesives have good flexibility and can be used on a variety of surfaces. Furthermore, both are easy to apply and clean.
Instructions for Use
Preparation: Clean the drywall surface and ensure it's dry; soak the wallpaper in warm water to soften it for easier handling.
Applying Adhesive: Pour the adhesive into a container and apply it evenly to the drywall surface with a brush. Apply more adhesive, especially to the edges, to facilitate wallpaper adhesion.
Applying Wallpaper: Place the soaked wallpaper onto the drywall surface and gently press it down to ensure it adheres firmly. Avoid folding or pulling the wallpaper to prevent wrinkles. If cutting the wallpaper is necessary, do so before applying.
Smooth the Surface: Adjust the wallpaper surface by applying adhesive to the edges and using a spray gun to ensure a smooth and even finish.
Trim the Corners: Trim the corners neatly with scissors, then apply a layer of adhesive to prevent cracking.
Precautions:
Choose the Right Adhesive: Avoid using ordinary adhesives or other corrosive adhesives.
Plasterboard Surface Treatment: Ensure the plasterboard surface is dry, clean, and dust-free to ensure proper adhesive adhesion.
Wallpaper Treatment: Keep the wallpaper damp; otherwise, wrinkles may occur. Soak the wallpaper in warm water before applying it.
Wallpaper Application Angle: When applying wallpaper, start from the center and gradually work outwards. If the center is crooked, the entire wallpaper will be affected.
Additional Gaps: Leave sufficient gaps when applying wallpaper to allow the wallpaper to expand or contract as the wall shrinks.
